When you volunteer, you’re way more than helpful. You’re essential.

From Day 1, volunteers have defined who we are and what makes us exceptional. In fact, SOAR365 was founded by volunteers—family members who wanted better options for their loved ones with disabilities.

Today, volunteers continue to contribute in ways that further our mission, strengthen our staff, influence our strategic initiatives, beautify our properties, make our events more successful and, most importantly, raise the level of service we provide every day to individuals with disabilities and their families.

A remarkable thing happens when you serve at SOAR365: Just as you’re changing someone’s life, they’re changing yours right back

There’s a good reason our volunteers are so happy to give—because the people they work with give so much happiness in return. Better yet, there are so many ways to serve that you’re certain to find the opportunity that best fits you or your group’s talents.

But remember, the standards we set for our volunteers are high. We look for people who are passionate and ready to go above and beyond mere service. Our volunteers bring their best every day: in interactions that are meaningful, in work that’s transformative and in service that’s powerful.

We cherish our volunteers

We fully recognize the value every volunteer brings, and we strive to make SOAR365 the ideal place to volunteer by doing the following:

  • Engaging values-driven volunteers and groups who show a deep commitment to the population we serve

  • Giving you important opportunities in a supportive team environment

  • Making sure your experience is meaningful, satisfying, and fun

  • Upholding our reputation as “a great place to volunteer!”

Thank for considering the commitment of volunteering at SOAR365. Your work will help us get that much closer to our mission to create life-fulfilling opportunities for people with disabilities.

EVENT SUPPORT

Help us stage fundraising and awareness events like The Ladybug, SummerFest, FallFest and special events in PARK365.

ADMINSTRATIVE SUPPORT

An organization our size needs lots of assistance with filing, scanning, copying, assembling packets and mailings. We’re also eager to welcome interns and skilled pro bono special project volunteer.

PROPERTY BEAUTIFICATION

With multiple locations, we have a tremendous need for people with a talent for landscaping, gardening, painting, cleaning, renovations and construction.

PROGRAMMING

For everyone who wants to work directly with the individuals we serve. You can support in our Children & Youth Program, Adult Day programs, Summer Camp and Workforce Development.
NOTE: Program support volunteers will need to complete additional onboarding steps that meet agency requirements and state licensing regulations before working directly with program participants.

Next Generations Advisory Council

The NGAC holds monthly happy hour gatherings where members can meet and discuss ways that we can support the NGAC mission. Members get the opportunity to network within the Richmond community at all different levels, whether it be socially or professionally. Each member will get the opportunity to both volunteer and advocate for SOAR365, as well as be involved with the planning of two major annual events.

NGAC’s Mission

Our  mission is to connect with the communities of Greater Richmond by raising awareness of SOAR365 in order to support individuals with disabilities through philanthropic initiatives.

become a member of NGAC

We ask that members attend our happy hour gatherings once a month. The monthly gatherings only last 1.5 hours and are held in a social setting. We also ask members to help plan and run two major NGAC events supporting SOAR365 each year.
